Pashley-Moulton TSR’s Coming to Gold Country

Moulton TSR8

Gold Country Cyclery is pleased to announce that we’ve added the Pashley-Moulton TSR line of bikes from the UK.   All models from the Sturmey Archer 8spd TSR pictured above to the Campy equipped drop bar TSR 30 feature the Separable frame option for easily putting your Moulton in the trunk of your car, or to pack for travel.

The superb ride performance of the new Pashley-Moulton TSR takes cycling to a new level. Light and quick like a racing bicycle, strong and durable like a touring bicycle, the TSR has a versatility and capability that sets it apart from others. More comfortable, more maneuverable, with superior ride and acceleration, the TSR is both dynamically different and a pleasure to ride.

The ultra-stiff spaceframe construction and unique Moulton suspension system – extensively proven in touring, sport, racing, audax and leisure use – give you an unsurpassable experience.

Independent Fabrication’s Matt Bracken

BikeRadar.com recently published an interview with the president of Independent Fabrication, Matt Bracken. Here’s a snippet from BikeRader:

Independent Fabrication (IF) is unlike most other bicycle companies, because it’s an employee ownership collective, that grows as a company through group decisions and profit sharing. The bikes are designed, tested, and meticulously built in their Somerville, Massachusetts factory. The results? Their frames are a byword for quality across the cycling world and are on the wish list of many riders who are looking for that special bike for life.

RANS Ti-Rex at Gold Country

Ti Rex
Finally our new Ti-Rex frameset has been transformed into a complete bike. You start with a Titanium frameset which includes frame, fork, and steering gear (Headset, Flip-It stem, Riser and Handle Bar) for $1650 retail, then add a RANS Z-Seat w/narrow CF pan.

To complete the build I added:
- Velocity Thracian 20/26 non-disc wheelset
- Schwalbe Kojak Tires 20×1.35 and 26×1.35 w/lightweight Schwalbe tubes
- Shimano M760 XT 11/34 9spd cassette
- FSA Gossamer Mega-Exo triple crank. (over 100 grams lighter than Ultegra)
- Avid SD7.0 linear pull brakes
- Avid Speed-Dial SL brake levers
- SRAM X.0 Gripshifters
- SRAM X.9 rear derailleur
- Shimano R773 10spd flat-bar front derailleur
- KMC X9SL chain (slotted link plates + hollow pins) and it’s gold?

I took the new Ti-Rex out for a brief ride around the business park and immediately remembered why I was attached to the prototype at this past year’s InterBike Out-Door demo..

RANS Screamer Demo Ready to Ride

Rans Screamer

After enough customer prodding :-) ,  I got our newly arrived Screamer SP together for test riding.  RANS Website still shows Screamer SP’s available as 2006 models.  Last year for the bargain Screamer.  No XXL sizing or S&S Coupler option with this model, but an excellent value at $3,600 with double-legged kickstand.   Get them while they’re still in stock at RANS.  See our complete line of RANS recumbents on our RANS Bikes Page.

New: As of Mar 9th RANS has sold out the last of the SP models.. :-(
