Italian High Racers - Slyway

Slyway Ultrateam

Having a love for Italian bicycles and Campagnolo bicycle components, I was drawn to the Slyway Ultrateam pictured above when approached via email months ago by Stefano Bonazzoli to become a dealer. Many email exchanges later and we finally have some framesets on their way. As luck would have it the first ones coming in are painted red, white and green. The frames are aluminum and along with some carbon fiber bits to include fork, the approximate weight for a Shimano 10spd Ultegra Ultrateam is 22.2 lbs. Once we get all the kinks out of this importation process, hopefully after the first shipment, we plan to bring in other models to include the Touring Explorer and the Trekking Enjoy. InterBike 2007 - Shop closed Sept 24 - Oct 1

Ann and I have missed the InterBike Dealer show in Las Vegas past two years, and decided it was time to make the trip and look over new products for the 2008 sales year. I will have time to attend the Outdoor demo as well. For tandem and touring bicycles, I plan to make posts with images of new cool stuff time permitting. For recumbents, I will be sending images and write-ups to Alan Barnard for his blog www.recumbentblog.com . Hopefully I will find something of interest for all viewers.

Greenspeed Anura Delta Trike

Greenspeed’s newest and first delta trike is in production and we have our first demo ready for test riding.   The cornering stability of this trike is very good and a surprise as other delta’s I’ve ridden with relatively high seats have not been as good.  Looks heavy, but it’s surprisingly light at 40 lbs thanks to it’s aluminum frame and other light components.  Underseat steering provides great comfort and precise steering and handling.  No tiller effect as there is with low-cost above seat handle bar trikes.  GS/Rans seat adds great comfort along with adjustable seat recline.

Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes on all three wheels provide some serious stopping power.   Gear shifting is made simple with Schlumf’s Speed Drive 2-speed bottom bracket.  Shimano bar-end shifter controls a rear derailluer and 8spd 13/28th rear cassette. Also, both rear wheels are driven with use of a rear differential.  Lightweight 16″ wheels with proven GS Scorcher tires help this trike move along quickly.

If you are in the market for a recumbent trike that’s very easy to get aboard and fun to ride,  come by and try our floor demo.  The Anura is priced at $2495.00.

Paketa V2 Mg Tandem

Paketa Tandem

My wife Ann and I have finally found opportunity in the past couple weekends to try out our new Magnesium frame Paketa V2 tandem.  I can say for the both of us that we were pleasantly surprised by the smooth ride quality which is a claim made by the frame builder.  We have had opportunity to ride many tandems built with all available materials and must say this one rivals or betters some of the carbon fiber framed tandems we’ve owned and ridden many miles.  We need more and longer rides to get a more complete evaluation of this special tandem and will post our feedback.

For those looking for a high end tandem, put the Paketa V2 on your list.  For a test ride, please call for an appointment.
